What You Will Do:
Minimum requirements for a CNC Burner A require setting up and operating the CNC burning and Plasma cutting equipment as follows:
Use a computer to evaluate QC database to ensure material selected complies with required specifications. Issue material with heat number into business system.
Set-up and operate equipment to make various shapes including but not limited to circles, squares, rectangles, shell flanges, rings, custom cuts, lead-ins, and chain cuts.
Use preset programs to make parts.
Use available software to create an NC file as needed for individual burn templates.
Use nested plate programs to make parts adjusting such as offsets and mirror-ins as needed.
Maintain computer library of burning programs and download files as required.
Set-up and operate existing equipment ensuring concurrent (one operator running two machines simultaneously) and efficient utilization.
Adaptable to programming, setting up, and operating new burning or cutting equipment that may be installed.
Grind and clean parts produced off the tables as directed.
Mark parts as required.
Review and prepare related paperwork. Monitor burn lists and schedules.
Select and move proper material from inventory. Load and unload tables.
Cut up and properly dispose of scrap material.
Evaluate usability of scrap and drops and select same for small lots or rush parts.
Replace consumables on equipment.
May put or assist others in putting purchased raw materials and/or drops into racks or designated areas as directed.
Clean tables of slag and replace bars.
Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
Train, assist, and instruct CNC burners
Have the necessary standard Machinist tools
Ability to be trained, set up, and operate other machine shop equipment as needed.
Must hold valid accredited CNC Certification or a minimum of one year experience operating a burn table or CNC machine in a machine shop environment or related field.
Performs closely related duties as assigned.
