APMEX is looking for a passionate Sr. Graphic Designer that is reliable in creating engaging consumer-facing designs to support our brand. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing, maintaining, and updating all design aspects throughout the life cycle of a project. Working closely with the marketing team, the senior designer will deliver dynamic, thoughtful, and innovative content and will collaborate with multiple teams across projects to deliver cohesive holistic creative solutions. We are looking for a team player willing to bring high energy and new ideas into a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate has a broad operating range and can think strategically. You love details and design finesse. An enthusiasm for directing others and rolling up your sleeves and delivering design work in necessary.

 

 

Functions & Qualifications

 

  • Responsible for the management of 3rd party vendors. This includes managing their time, projects, deliverables and providing creative direction as needed. This includes agencies, freelancers, contractors and vendors.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously to realize the organization's creative marketing goals.
  • Deliver all phases of production from concept to completion (e.g. mockups, hi-fidelity comps, production-ready assets and guidelines for usage).
  • Thrive in a wide range of mediums, including print, physical, experiential, and digital.
  • Establish design guidelines, standards, and best practices across all visual platforms and collateral. 
  • Ensure high-quality design concepts and execute creative materials as required.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to effectively manage our creative projects and enhance department productivity.
  • Responsible for designing/ producing and managing projects with high accuracy (including basic die line structures, logo design, typography, color studies, photo retouching, preparing files to printer/ vendor, etc.)
  • Consistently research, identify and share current industry design trends and competitive reviews as they relate to the brand.
  • The creative team is also responsible for a variety of creative to support and enhance the brand and to help reinforce the brands’ identity and image.
  • Lead junior designers on the team as assigned to develop and design visual communication materials that support the brand strategy and external vendors.
  • Strong visual design skills and high level of taste and aesthetic sense. A critical eye and an obsessive attention to detail. Able to develop design language from scratch and set design standard.
  • Innovative thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain and evolve graphic and brand standards for APMEX.com.
  • Create graphic-based campaigns to elevate the APMEX.com brand through a multitude of channels, while driving business initiatives and goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teammates company-wide to execute on marketing strategies, merchandising opportunities and corporate objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and execute precisely with detail.
  • Conceptualize and create intuitive, engaging, and brand-consistent projects for use in digital experiences and traditional marketing campaigns including advertising and trade shows.

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Graphic Arts or Fine Arts

 

Experience

  • 8 years of professional graphic design experience within agency or client-side environment.
  • Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, color and typography. 
  • A working knowledge of additional tools like Flexitive, Canva or Celtra.
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital, print and production processes.
  • Experience with vendor management and accountability.
  • A passion for conceptual ideation and design execution.
  • Desire and ability to provide mentorship and constructive feedback to other designers.
  • Passion for and good understanding of the totality of the customer experience and how to build great brands that drive superior business results, as well as the latest digital marketing trends and opportunities with technology or platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to speak fluently and clearly explain design decisions to business partners and other teammates.
  • Ability to think creatively and critically with an understanding of how to balance business objectives with user needs. Think outside of the box yet put yourself in customers shoes.
  • Lead the management of graphic assets within the ecosystem – including maintain an up-to-date graphic library and ensuring process excellence through on-time sign off and detailed system management Strong communication skills required: strong presentation skills, ability to build strong relationships across multiple teams.

Plus

  • Use of project management software a plus.
  • Working knowledge and usage of a Digital Asset Management System a plus.

  • Ability to be proactive, to identify new creative ways to help support the brand.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a larger team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to include effective group presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of graphic and print production process.
  • Able to take projects from start to finish with limited supervision.
