Job Description
Purpose of Position
The payroll administrator is responsible for the administrative maintenance of the Oracle time and labor system, support for other payroll technology activities, maintenance of payroll procedures and documentation, review of payroll processing audit reports and providing guidance regarding payroll processing activities.

Primary Job Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Administer time management system activities: develop schedule templates, assign time entry privileges, maintain holiday schedules, review import and payroll override errors and coordinate resolution, reconcile control totals for the payroll run, maintain system documentation, train new users and assist with trouble-shooting issues. (40-50%)
Update and develop requirements, develop test plans and support testing for existing payroll system programs and reoccurring processes. Assist with testing time management system policy rules and configuration. (25-30%)
Coordinate with other company departments and government agencies to review the requirements for the administration of contract provisions, state disability programs, garnishment and wage assignments and other payroll processing items. Review and update payroll procedures and documentation. Provide guidance to the payroll specialists and review the payroll processing audit reports. (25-30%)
Complete system maintenance required to process executive compensation. (5%)
Perform additional responsibilities related to payroll projects as requested or assigned. (5%)

Internal - time management system users and human resources, payroll, information and legal staff
External - representatives of government agencies
Performance Expectations (Key Success Factors)
Identify modifications required to assigned payroll system programs and the time management system schedules, templates, tables and time entry assignments to meet changing requirements, ensuring accurate processing and timely access to the appropriate users.
Monitor payroll processing requirements and ensures payroll procedures are accurate and current. Complete prompt follow-up to resolve any issues identified during review of payroll processing audit reports.
Perform responsibilities as directed within determined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the company.
Maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities; enhance job knowledge and abilities by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training.
Maintain sensitive and confidential information regarding company information.
Attend work on a regular basis and support the company's employee policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules.
Ensure all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understand and comply with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resource, information technology or a related field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Three years related payroll or human resources system experience.
Personal computer skills; demonstrated proficiency in Word and Excel.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Effective communication skills including listening, verbal and writing skills to process and present information timely and accurately.
Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus and the ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
