This is an onsite Mechanical & Utility Engineer to support the Jefferson expansion project. The team is looking for a Mechanical & Utility Engineer with Food & Beverage, Client or industrial manufacturing capex project experience (MUST HAVE: very large multi-million dollar construction, startup and commissioning project experience).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Job requires a broad knowledge of mechanical utility systems, technology, equipment, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) generation and review infield.
• Be engaged with corporate engineering team to understand project team structure, scopes, design, and coordination reviews.
• Provide Mechanical Engineering review and management of onsite mechanical/utility construction for capital projects.
• Review and approve contractor means and methods for construction at factories in operation
• Review and evaluate feasibility and cost estimates by contractors for existing and new factory sites and buildings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:
• MUST HAVE: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• PREFERED: Licensed Professional Engineer, highly recommended
Experience (Years/Type):
• 5-10 years experience in mechanical/utility design including HVACR, liquid handling systems (tanks, pumps, piping), heat transfer systems, steam systems, chill water systems, natural gas systems, and industrial waste systems.
• MUST HAVE: 1 yr Food & Beverage, Client or industrial manufacturing capex project experience (very large multi-million dollar construction, startup and commissioning project experience).
• MUST HAVE: Field experience reviewing construction progress, starting up mechanical equipment, commissioning systems and coordinating field work with teammates/third parties.
• Experience with generating, reviewing, and field tracing P&ID’s.
• Experience working in a multi-discipline team to deliver industrial capital projects.
• Experience with projects requiring hygienic food and industrial manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience reviewing 2D drawings and 3D Models.
Skills:
• Process flow development.
• Experience with P&ID development, equipment sizing, and specifications.
• Equipment submittal review.
• Construction document review and markup.
• Ability to multi-task across several projects at a time.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical subject matter.
• Ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.
• Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, BIM 360, Procore.
• Steel toe shoes are required and to be provided at own expense. Other safety gear will be provided by the facility.
