Description:
Apollinaire Theatre Company’s youth program, Apollinaire Play Lab, seeks an Acting Instructor for the summer with possibility of extension into the fall and beyond. We are looking for someone with experience teaching acting/theatre to children and a passion and expertise to bring to our students. Bilingual (English/Spanish) speakers are encouraged to apply.
Classes will be held at the Riseman Family Theatre in the Chelsea Theatre Works building in Chelsea Square, 187 Winnisimmet Street, Chelsea, MA.
Responsibilities include:
- Curriculum development
- Communicate with parents as needed
- Teach acting skills and prepare students for the summer production
- Collaborate with other Apollinaire Play Lab teachers and the professional production team to achieve finished product for the show
- Be present for tech week and all performances to help supervise and direct the youth
This summer we are holding an intensive! Summer students will be a part of Apollinaire's professional summer show!
Student days: Monday- Friday, July 11-29, Evenings August 1-4. Performances Fridays and Saturdays August 5-20.
Students will take Art, Acting, Dance, and Singing to prepare them to be ensemble members of “And Your Little Dog Too,” an original bilingual adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Students will be featured in key scenes of the professional production.
Compensation:
$50 per contact hour.
