Summary of Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree in accounting, 3 years' experience in General Ledger and Financial Statement preparation in the health care industry. Additional duties will include bank statement reconciliation, variance analysis and audit support. You will also be the backup for Accounts Payable and Payroll. Attention to detail, ability to work independently and good time management skills/ability to meet deadlines are important skills as is experience in healthcare and non-profits.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and for external auditors.
- Assures the accuracy of the preparation of the organization's payroll tax and other reports.
- Bank Statement Reconciliations
- Assist with Monthly Journal Entries
- Fixed Asset Management
- Assist with external audit.
- Backup for Accounts Payable.
- Tracking cash activity and account balances daily, utilizing bank information and system generated reports. Providing management with summary of available cash balances daily and assisting in projecting cash flow requirements and other Dashboard matrix.
- Assures implementation of internal controls and generally accepted accounting procedures accounting.
- Special Projects including annual federal and state compliance reports, financial reporting for grant agencies and other regular management reporting as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in the health care industry.
- 2 years of experience in accounting/revenue cycle functions for an FQHC or equivalent.
- Experience with computer-based accounting systems, preferably SAGE.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

- Governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements.
- Non-profit healthcare operations and community health center industry.
