Overview
The Behavioral Health Associate works under the supervision of Clinical Social Worker or Inpatient Therapist.
Responsibilities
The Behavioral Health Associate works under the supervision of Clinical Social Worker or Inpatient Therapist and is responsible for the following:
- Conducting functional analyses of patient behavior, participating as a member of the treatment team, contributing to the treatment plan and implement appropriate interventions from the plan, as needed.
- Conducting individual and group psycho-education, leisure activities and life- skill training and coaching for all patients.
- Monitoring behavioral health patients on both on the inpatient psychiatric unit and within the emergency department, for safety.
- Assisting in any intervention/de-escalation needed during a psychiatric crisis.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum EducationBachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or other Human Services Field of StudyCPI certified (Within 90 days after hire)
Minimum Work ExperiencePrevious Behavioral Health experience preferred
Required Licenses/CertificationsCPI certified within 30 days after hireBLS certified within 30 days after hire
Required Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively and document information accuratelyAbility to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individualsKnowledge of basic medical terminology preferredBasic computer knowledge is preferredAbility to move or lift patients and equipmentAbility to work independently within general guidelinesAbility to communicate in English, both orally and writtenAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to work with adults experiencing mental health disturbances or dual diagnoses.
