What You’ll Do

In the AppFolio Risk & Fraud team, our goal is to keep our ecosystem’s accounts safe, provide them uninterrupted access to their payment capabilities, and minimize the company’s risk exposure and fraud loss. As a Sr. Fraud & Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for proactive Fraud monitoring of existing AppFolio Payments customers while supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the AML Compliance Program.

  • Initiate and design solutions to mitigate fraudulent transactions for the Appfolio Property Management and Investment Management businesses safely and sustainably.
  • Partner in the development and implementation of AppFolio’s AML and Payments Compliance Program.
  • Develop and maintain adherence to Service Level Agreements and audit requirements from payment processing vendors.
  • Define, build and maintain procedural alignment across risk and fraud operation teams, Customer Care, Compliance, and the payments business line. Act as the main point of contact for escalations for internal teams and external payment partners.

Must-Haves

  • BS or higher in Business, Mathematics, Law, Regulatory Affairs or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering/Bank Secrecy Act (AML/BSA)
  • 5 Years Experience as an AML Compliance Analyst in financial services, MSB or Fintech
  • Knowledge of Online Payments Industry, Real Estate Industry
  • Experience in Risk & Fraud investigations, analysis 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering (CAMS) certification
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce
