Our food manufacturing client in Cresco, IA is looking to hire a Plant Manager, the top leader at the plant reporting to the VP of Operations. This Plant Manager will manage and direct the site to successfully meet customer expectations while achieving safety, quality, efficiency, profitability, quality of work life and company values.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, manufacturing management or business strongly preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of experience with production activities in a Manufacturing environment, food grade preferred or similar industry.
- 5 years of experience managing people
- Dynamic, forward thinking leader who can provide a positive work environment and create a good working culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages the facility to optimize performance
- Communicate and uphold company vision and mission with employees
- Decide capacity and utilization of facility
- Direct the capital activities of facility
- Facilitate activities that will allow managers and supervisors to meet plant goals in estimated and actual productivity, cost reductions and profit
- Ensure employee safety through EHS Coordinator and Production Manager
- Work with management team and supervisors to develop systems and procedures that ensure adherence to safety objectives
- Work with the quality department to set goals and ensure compliance to goals
- Lead the Production Manager to ensure there are systems to prioritize and schedule jobs including material, equipment, tools and personnel
- Develop schedules that meet customer expectations
- Develop strategic plans, sales forecasts, budgets and policies that will strengthen the company and support the company’s financial goals
- Development and adherence to budgets that support current activity and forecasts
- Develop sales projections and forecast job costs to support the company’s budget
- Develop strategic direction and implement key action items to ensure a stronger and healthier company that supports corporate and employee goals
- Implement changes to plant operations, manufacturing methods, plant layouts, capital equipment and procedures that result in cost reductions to ensure corporate goals and customer expectations are met
- Coordinate with the Business Development Manager/Project Manager for new product introductions as well as new product manufacturing processes or technology
- Work closely with Production Manager, Process Engineers, Maintenance Manager, and Quality Manager to plan and set up new processes for test runs, scale up and long-term production processes
- Work closely with Business Development Manager/Project Manager/Quality Manager for planning and scheduling new products and processing
- Analyze, recommend, and justify the purchase of capital equipment to support the company’s strategic direction and changing technology needs
- Identify and implement manufacturing methods and organization structure to improve the efficiencies of material flow and to meet the changing needs of our customers
- Manage employee quality of work life to ensure an informed, satisfied, and productive workforce
- Liaison with current and prospective customers.
- Interact with customers to resolve problems, offer alternatives and provide information on CFT’s capabilities in meeting their expectations
- Strive for excellence in all aspects of each and every activity, which will demonstrate performance model for all employees
- Provide support and continual education for all employees, which will provide for a more talented and satisfied workforce
- Work closely with VP of Engineering on capital projects, priorities, and strategies.
