Portfolio Credit Analyst, Assistant Treasurer 

Hybrid/Manhattan, NY

The Portfolio Credit Analyst is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) borrowers consisting of export credits, aviation related, large corporates, commodity/energy related, international banks, Asset Based Lending (ABL), or Business Development Corporations (BDC).  This includes loan reviews, ongoing portfolio management, identifying industry trends, and producing portfolio reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio Management

• Perform loan reviews by assessing credit risks of credit transactions and internal risk ratings for aviation related, large corporates, international banks, export credits, ABL and BDC credits.
• Responsible for risk rating assessment and periodic relationship reviews
• Assess industry/external factors affecting the C&I portfolio
• Prepare portfolio reports monthly/quarterly and assist in the monitoring of the C&I portfolio.
• Prepare in-depth analysis of macroeconomic conditions, industry trends and changes in lending practices
• Identify emerging economic and portfolio risks

Reporting and Reviews

• Monitor and track covenant compliance, exception and risk rating change reporting
• Ensure accuracy of borrower information in Bank systems
• Manage special projects, implement and recommend process improvements.
• Underwrite financial condition of key vendors and trading counter-parties
• Ownership of portfolio reporting and analytics
• Underwrite CRA transactions
• Analyze Investment portfolio
• Collaborate with business teams and Risk Leadership
• Other duties as required

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees or certifications preferred
• 3-7 years of C&I credit analysis experience with large borrowers
• Strong analytical skill set with proven capability of performing cash flow analysis, credit metric and trend analysis.
• Advanced analytical and financial modeling capability
• Asset based lending analyses experience a plus.
