The FaceTime QA team is seeking a passionate and experienced QA engineer who is interested in helping us deliver quality releases to our customers on Apple’s platforms. Our core team (Comm Apps) designs and engineers the communication cornerstones of iOS and macOS: the Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications. We need someone inspired to invent new ways to test, to find problems no one else could, and to build amazing products.
Key Qualifications
- Solid understanding of development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and QA processes.
- Experienced in developing test plans, building tools and test frameworks.
- Experienced in writing, triaging, and debugging automation scripts, as well as test harness enhancement, primarily focused on UI applications.
- Automation/coding experience in Python, Swift, or similar languages.
- Skilled at debugging, troubleshooting, and critical thinking on bug prioritization.
- Experience with multi-functional projects.
- A great teammate with the ability to act as a mentor and peer leader.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Description
We are looking for critical problem solvers to play a key role in qualifying our existing and new features in FaceTime/Phone/SharePlay. We need someone who is comfortable working in an exciting environment with changing priorities, thinking creatively, and has a passion for ensuring high-quality standards.
As a part of the FaceTime team, you will work side-by-side with developers and peers to author and complete manual & automated tests. You will need to understand technical details, use cases, and plan for new features prior to their announcement and release. We use tools and automation to expand and improve testing coverage and efficiency. We also determine issue priority including reproducing steps, scope, and customer impact. You will coordinate test efforts across multiple teams for major new features and call out critical bugs and work with developers to prioritize fixes. You will need to provide qualitative feedback on new features to ensure FaceTime, FaceTime, and Phone provide a superior experience on new hardware.
Education & Experience
BS in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $88,100 and $170,100 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
