The Product Design Engineering group working on new and future product concepts is looking for a Lab Manager who will be responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and improvement of our lab space and equipment.
Key Qualifications
- Familiarity with shop tools, prototype fabrication techniques and equipment (3D printers, laser cutter, lathe, mill, etc.), and inspection equipment (microscopes, load cells, etc.)
- Familiarity with proper shop safety and housekeeping practices
- Experience root causing failures and implementing corrective actions
- Strong mechanical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to predict timelines and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Description
We are the hands-on technical team that carries the design of Apple products through the entire process, from early prototyping to mass production. By joining our team, you'll work side by side with your teammates inside Apple and collaborate with vendors to manage the upkeep and optimization of our Prototype Lab. You will support the fabrication, modification, and repair of prototype hardware that will indirectly and directly inform what we ship to customers. •Maintaining, repairing and upgrading fabrication equipment •Detailed tracking and stocking of consumables •Researching and purchasing equipment and tools to enhance our current capabilities •Control lab access and security and support external visits (vendors, Facilities, Safety) •Building relationships with equipment suppliers to ensure high-quality support •Working independently and collaborating with others •Organizing and optimizing the space that you and your teammates work in
Education & Experience
Background in Mechanical Engineering (AS/BS preferred) 2 years working in a mechanical lab environment

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $30.28 and $50.48/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
