Industry leader in Goleta, CA is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join their successful Procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring materials and services through suppliers using LEAN principles. Your key responsibilities will include preparing purchase orders, analyzing the requirements of specific commodities and negotiating with suppliers to maximize profits and quality of materials. Additional responsibilities include,
• Working closely with Engineers to understand drawings and specifications of materials needed.
• Assuring purchase orders and contracts adhere to company and national standards.
• Maintaining electronic records and preparing reports for order status and expected delivery date.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to optimize JIT (Just In Time) deliveries.

In order to perform this role successfully, you will need:
• 5 years of experience as a buyer/planner in a manufacturing setting
• An Associates Degree in Business, BA preferred
• Strong working knowledge of ERP and MRP software applications
• Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles and JIT deliveries
• Experience reading engineering drawings, analyzing quotes, and negotiating pricing
