Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Director, Engineering who leads and directs multiple engineering teams or functions. Oversees and ensures technical excellence of the design and development processes to ensure alignment with customers' requirements. Plans and deploys resources to achieve business and financial objectives and influences, shapes, and integrates strategy best to meet the company's short- and long-term goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads and directs multiple Engineering teams to obtain optimum productivity while reaching strategic goals.
  • Ensures appropriate resources are available and deployed to achieve financial and business objectives
  • Defines and integrates strategy for functional area(s) to effectively meet business objectives
  • Provides managerial and technical solutions to a variety of complex issues
  • Defines processes, procedures, and standard work to most efficiently meet program objectives
  • Manages urgent matters to ensure a continuous flow of operations
  • Create and lead the implementation of projects to reduce costs and improve mechanical design and development processes, using best practices and professional knowledge
  • Leads and directs work for a team of employees as defined by business needs
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities are consistent with reaching the business goals and expectations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Job Specifications:

Education: Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Preferred Years' Experience: 10 (plus) years of relevant experience
Skills:

  • Good understanding and demonstrated expertise in managing the critical gates of the engineering process
  • Demonstrated experience in composite manufacturing
  • Strong leadership and management skills to enable the creation of a highly capable and sustainable Mechanical Engineering Function
  • Ability to execute functional business plans and contribute to the development of engineering-related strategy
  • Able to utilize the latest technology to enhance the growth of an organization
  • Capable of directing the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems while applying advanced analytical thought and judgment
  • Able to anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make recommendations
  • Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence while exercising sensitivity to the audience

Salary : $195,000 - $225,000
