Position: Customer Order Specialist
The Customer Order Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the order entry process including, but not limited to: order entry, purchasing, expediting, and providing order status to customers. These individuals also work closely with Inside Sales, Account Managers, and most other groups within the company by providing timely updates and responses to various requests.
Responsibilities:
- Execute order administration and management including order entry, purchasing, change orders, return authorizations, documentation, credits, and literature requests
- Support the sales team in meeting customer needs and providing exceptional customer experiences
- Collaborate with coworkers to provide back-up support, assistance in problem solving and cross training to other Customer Order Specialists
- Deliver timely responses to customer requests including resolving order issues, providing status updates and expediting as needed
- Cooperate with the Accounting Department to verify proper order entry method for complex orders, and resolving pricing and invoicing issues
- Contribute to determining best practices in regard to department workflow, business system knowledge and application, and delivering exceptional customer service
- Other duties as assigned in support of customer service
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience with Order Entry, Purchasing, and Expediting preferred
- Experience with an ERP (complex order entry and financials software) system
- Aptitude to consistently execute standard operating procedures and proficiently navigate order processing scenarios requiring unique approaches
- Willingness to ask questions and understand the big picture around individual and unique customer care strategies
- Ability to cooperate and coordinate with teammates across various departments to meet customer needs or resolve issues
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Thrives on providing exceptional customer service
- Poised under stressful customer interactions
- Beginning to intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite tools
Working Conditions:
Includes working primarily in an office setting, with occasional visits to the shop. This position may require evening, and weekend hours on an infrequent basis.
Compensation:
Base Range: $20 - 23/hour dependent on relevant job-related and industry experience
Other: Eligible for annual profit sharing award
