Director of Market Research Field Operations

AMS is currently searching for a Director of Market Research Field Operations to join our fast-paced team environment. By managing the operation of our Field and Survey Programming departments and ensuring best-in-class execution of all aspects of data collection at AMS, this individual will play a pivotal role across our research practices.

The Director of Market Research and Field Operations will manage a team of Field Analysts and Survey Programmers in all aspects of data collection , including but not limited to project bidding, fieldwork execution, respondent recruitment, programming and data collection for qualitative and quantitative market. The position reports to the company’s leadership team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the company’s field services expert as it relates to recruiting for online surveys, telephone surveys, qualitative interviewing and mall studies
  • Maintain and expand field, programming and technology vendor partnerships
  • Negotiate favorable pricing for respondent recruiting and interviewing for qualitative and quantitative B-B and consumer market research projects, both domestic and internationally
  • Manage expenses, billing and contracts for all fieldwork services vendors
  • Guide survey programmers in best-in-class data collection/programming protocols
  • Oversee programming technology, workflow, and capacity
  • Stay abreast of market research field industry trends, rules & regulations, and best practices
  • Contribute to setting strategic goals within the department that align with firm and practice goals
  • Train, coach and mentor field and programming teams
  • Help maintain AMS’s presence among field vendors and research professionals (i.e., attending industry conferences)
  • Identify and evaluate new vendors to meet emerging research needs
  • Lead ongoing field vendor quality monitoring processes
  • Contribute to strategic thinking and profitability by advising management and project staff on process improvements and recommendations for expense reduction

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of field operations, recruiting or related market research experience preferred
  • Understanding of research principles, design and methodologies preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Strong computer skills (Excel a must)
  • Excellent problem-solving, creativity and analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills
  • Highly organized, strong multi-tasker
  • Ability to thrive in a small entrepreneurial team environment
  • Local candidates preferred
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship at any time in the future

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
