Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Technical Consultant who will be a pivotal part of the Applied Solutions organization. The Technical Consultants are the trusted advisors and respected team leaders pivotal to both the Applied technology ecosystem and insurance client base. An Applied Technical Consultant is a big-picture thinker when it comes to designing large scale business solutions. They are also an in-depth problem solver who takes pride in defining complex requirements and solutions that deliver for our customers. Their credentials and experience comprise various paths that recognize specialized knowledge, skills and expertise designing best practices across Applied's products. Technical Consultants use their strong delivery and communication skills, deep understanding of the competitive landscape, and unparalleled knowledge of Applied offerings to create win/win solutions for our clients and Applied.
What You’ll Do
- The Technical Consultant is the trusted advisor to Applied's customers on planning, designing, and delivering best practice solutions.
- The Technical Consultant has both an end user and technical understanding of all Applied software products.
- Lead discussions and early analysis of cloud concepts related to Applied's cloud methodology so that clear use cases are developed and prioritized and transition these concepts from ideas to proofs-of-concept with the full support of the appropriate teams.
- Conduct client-facing discovery workshops, identifying pain points, business, and technical requirements, "as is" and "to be" scenarios.
- Write Functional and Technical requirements needed to develop, test, and deliver custom solutions for Applied's customers.
- Work with Solutions Developers to design, build, test, and deploy custom solutions and troubleshoot bugs and defects for existing deployed solutions.
- Evaluate existing customer integrations and custom reporting for potential refactoring and enhancements to Applied's technology stack best practices.
- Discuss the Art of the possiblewith prospects on how Applied products will fold into their existing ecosystem.
- Lead pre-sale custom solution and scoping sessions to generate estimates and approaches for customer proposals and SOWs.
- Through a formal sales process, work with the Sales team to identify and qualify Google Cloud Platform (GCP) opportunities.
- Provide Business and Technical Support to Sales and Solution Consulting when selling complex cloud and custom solutions.
- Develop trusted and influential relationships with the technical decision-making and decision-influencing customer contacts (including the CIO or CTO) and provide technical perspective and guidance for the customer's business executive level contacts. This is achieved through a combination of broad real-world IT industry experience, domain expertise, and industry-recognized certifications.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for someone who:
- Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.
Your experience should include some or all the following:
- Minimum of 7 years of business/technical solutions implementation, including experience with the following: architecture design, evaluation, and investigation in a cloud environment and custom solutions development.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on application architecture focus where you engaged with clients, systems analysts, technical resources, developers, and testers to develop scalable and resilient software systems that leverage modern software stack and DevOps practices.
- Minimum of 3 years of Client Management and/or Project Management experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Apigee/Big Query
- Minimum of 1 years of experience developing applications using containers and Kubernetes, preferably on GCP.
- Expertise in database and environment architecture
- Bachelor's degree in either Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science, Business or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience).

- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Professional Cloud Architect certification
- 1 Years of experience in the insurance industry
- Salesforce admin or technical experience
- 2 years Experience with developing solutions using SQL, JAVA, JavaScript, VBSCRIPT, Rest /SOAP APIs, APEX a plus.
