JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Applied Technology Associates (ATA) is seeking a talented Logistics Specialist with a strong background in shipping/receiving to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.  Responsibilities include product shipping, inventory control, and material receiving to ensure inventory accuracy and timely supply of materials to manufacturing to meet customer requirements.  As a leader who engages in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, ATA provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, research and development, and scientific solutions.  This position is part of the Supply Chain Management team responsible for managing the flow of goods and services within ATA. 

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate will balance multiple activities including but not limited to:

• Perform inventory controls and actions using corporate accounting software and property cage
• Receive material to include incoming inspections and documentation of all material according to special handling and classification requirements
• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to build proper infrastructure, focused on material management with proper transition of material to those teams
• Prepare outgoing shipments
• Support Property audits and assist with property (Contractor-Acquired, Government-Furnished, or Customer-Furnished) accountability
• Stocking and Tracking of components
• Ensure that the carrier and logistics record all anomalies (damage, missing packages, etc.) prior to signing for the packages
• Fulfilling requests for materials
• Cycle counting
• Material Handling
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

This job operates in professional, secure office and laboratory environment.  This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and other equipment as needed.  This position will also need to operate and drive a variety of Forklifts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk, or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are nominally Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Standard work hours are essential for this position due to frequent deliveries throughout the day, 5 days a week.

Required Education and Experience

• Be a United States citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
• Candidate must have High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience with a minimum of seven (7) years of material management and inventory control experience in a Government DoD environment
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to drive commercial vehicles and pass a physical
• Must be able to drive a variety of forklifts
• Hands-on experience documenting and reporting per established procedures
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with shelf life inventory management
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral in order to communicate with internal and external customers
• Ability to maintain workplace cleanliness with strong organizational and reconciliation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and in a cohesive team environment
• Possess a great attitude and have the willingness to listen and learn

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Proficient in Deltek GCS
