JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Fabric Prep Operator is to prioritize and schedule work and performs a variety of duties associated with the Processing Technology department.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Activate pick groups assigned to Batch location by work order due date and like process specs.
- Sorts fabric by pattern, color and width.
- Physically sews individual pieces to create batch rolls in accordance to assigned Processing Specs.
- Performs the Batch function in Applied Textiles Fabric Availability System per required fields.
- Properly fills out batch packet and attaches piece ticket and fabric id swatch in sequence to physical batch.
- Performs cursory inspection for incoming fabric defects.
- Identifies and follows trials and VITO’s instructions.
- Operates a hi-lo as necessary to retrieve/stage material as needed.
- Follow SOP as assigned.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- End of Day Process for organization and next day set up.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects to independently meet deadlines and complete tasks in an accurate manner.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and processes in verbal and written form.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with employees and wide range of functional areas.
- Demonstrate skills in expressing ideas clearly and effectively.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills. (Adding/Subtracting, read a tape measure).
