Position Purpose

Directs, coordinates and has responsibility for all activities within the business unit, provides the leadership and supervision consistent with company strategic initiatives and core values. Conducts analysis of management and operational needs. Assist senior management in developing, interpreting, and implementing company policies and procedures for performing company functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for Profit and Loss (P&L) performance of assigned operations.Leads strategic planning process for the business unit. Builds market position by calling on new customers and securing business with current customers. Determines, defines and negotiates contracts for NDT training, consulting and inspection services. Prepares the quarterly operating budget. Ensures labor utilization for TCSG team by securing short and long term contracts. Manages business operations utilizing the Company’s business metrics.Responsible for overall operation of training center, including but not limited to, course contents, internal and external marketing of courses, ensuring appropriate instructors are certified deliver NDT courses. Analyzes and maintains the optimum level of skill and mix of employees.Responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships.Develop and promote quality & safety policies and procedures.Makes recommendations for purchases, modifications, renovations of plant and equipment to the EVP of X-Ray Industries for inclusion in the annual capital budget. Regularly reviews aged accounts receivable and follow up with delinquent customers.Maintains information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts and regularly communicates information to President. Ensures TCSG maintains and achieves appropriate certifications and training, allowing them to provide services to customers.Responsible for recruitment, selection, evaluation and retention of staff.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must have a good understanding of company’s operations. 
  • Heavy travel required; the individual must be available and willing to travel extensively. 
  • Must have an understanding of nondestructive testing processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional customer relationships. 
  • Closing Skills, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Up-Selling to Customer, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Energy Level and Meeting Goals are essential. 
  • Accepts leadership responsibilities.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite, Microsoft Project Manager or other. 
  • Business management skills in; Team development, Project management, negotiating and finance in addition to the Lean Concepts.

Education and Work Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree with related experience required
  • 5-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful sales, negotiating and management experience. 
  • NDT experience a preferred.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  
  • Ability to compute amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.  
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.   
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles in the industrial environment.  
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to regulated materials and environments. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
