What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Phlebotomist position at APPS Paramedical?
APPS is a National Insurance Examining Company utilizing Phlebotomists to complete mobile exams(asking medical history questions and taking height, weight, blood pressures and pulse), collecting blood and urine samples and Electrocardiograms. The requirements completed on each client varies based on the client's age, policy amount and insurance company.

The position is considered an Independent Contractor position. It is a job that is meant for people that are organized and self-motivated. APPS is a paramedical company that completes varied exam requirements on client’s that have applied for a life or disability insurance policy. You will be brought on as an Independent Contractor, but you will pay into State unemployment and state disability – which is a plus working with APPS. You will be paid based on the reqt’s that you complete on each person. The reqt’s vary based on the age of the client, the policy amount and the insurance company that they applied to. You will be paid once per month – on the 19th – for all work completed the month prior. For example, On Jan 19th, the examiners will be paid for all cases completed between 12/1 and 12/31, and so on.
We will schedule appts based on your availability and agreed upon zip codes. You will go to see the client’s at their home or office and complete whatever medical requirements that are needed for that particular order. You will then go home and centrifuge the blood, package everything up in the kit and then fed ex it to one of two labs in Kansas. You will have preprinted air bills paid by the lab. You will then fax or scan in the ppwk to us and update your status in the website.
While you will let us know the hours you wish to work on a weekly basis, We have found that the best hours to complete these exams are: 7 days a week between 6am and 3pm and Monday thru Thursday between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. Weekend hours (preferably Saturdays) are highly sought after from clients in the morning through early afternoon, so it would be great if you could offer weekends. Some examiners work every weekend, while others choose to do every other Saturday for example.
We will supply the centrifuge, the EKG if we decide that we need one in the area you are covering, a Tablet to complete certain insurance company exams, Sharps containers, tourniquets, blood kits which have everything you need to draw blood. You will need to supply a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, bathroom scale, cloth and metal tape measure. I would also have an extra box of band-aids, gauze pads and alcohol pads and an extra box of gloves.
fees are Typically as follows: (although if your area is more remote, they would be a bit more)
Blood and urine = $16.00
Measurements, blood and urine = $18.00
Basic exam, blood and urine = $25.00
Basic exam, EKG blood and urine = $32.00
