Millwright
Expected Results:
- Provide Millwright services to perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs to industrial-manufacturing machinery and equipment in a safe manner
- Use preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to maintain machinery and equipment health
- Effectively troubleshoot and solve equipment issues while working with cross functional teams (Operations, Engineering, & Maintenance).
- Act as a positive role model and team member representing Maintenance in the Plant
Supporting Activities:
- Construct, assemble, install, repair, maintain and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment, according to layout plans, blue prints, and other drawings
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot the following: pumps, mechanical-power transmission components (belts, chains, gears, reducers, variable-speed drives, shafts, sheaves, couplings, clutches, brakes), machine rolls, hydraulic & pneumatic components, cylinders, valves, fans/blowers, conveyors, bearings, tapes, hoists, cranes, elevators, and mechanical seals
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs on a variety of equipment
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and various PIVs
- Use hand tools and power tools safely
- Maintain accurate shop records on all responsible equipment and services
- Follows established safety rules and regulations
- Keeps work areas and shop areas clean and compliant with 5S standards
- Participates in cross-function equipment improvement teams
- Accepts a reasonable amount of overtime and emergency call in work beyond normal working hours
- Performs other work as directed by Supervisor
Required Prior Accomplishments, Experience, Skills:
- Certified Millwright Journeyman with 5 years of experience
- Ability to construct, assemble, repair and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment
- Ability to understand schematic diagrams, AutoCAD drawings, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other OEM specifications
- Strong working knowledge of job-site safety
- High standard of integrity and professionalism
- Must have mechanical aptitude consistent with maintenance-employee norms
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to follow directions, and manage multiple tasks
- Dependable, organized, cooperative, and team oriented
- Conscientious, self directed and disciplined
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills; able to work independently as well as with others
- Must own and have available for the job, all necessary tools as required by the Department Tool Policy
- Position is in a Union environment
- Works within the Maintenance Department, subject to both 12 hr swing shifts and straight days, subject to overtime and call-ins.
