This position will involve meeting with clients to address their goals and objectives for family and business estate planning. Candidate will be required to prepare strategic estate plans and illustrations of the plan that can be presented to the client and client’s attorney. This position will involve working closely with Aprio tax partners and associates to manage the estate planning process and client deliverables.
Position responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional client service
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce clients’ estate tax exposure
- Listen to clients and assist them in designing estate plan that captures their intentions
- Prepare or review estate and trust income tax returns, gift and estate tax returns, as well as high net worth income tax returns
- Work closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting and compliance services
- Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff
- Work with partners on delivering innovative tax planning strategies
Qualifications:
- Either a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related specialty
- Or a Masters degree in Taxation or JD (preferred but not required)
- 5 years of Recent experience working in a public accounting firm, law firm, or financial services firm.
- Experience in 1041s, 709s, 706s and summarizing complex trust and estate documents
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology
