JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Manager is responsible for production-related communication and operations flow and coordination between the Director of Operation and the Production Departments, which includes: Fabrication, Machine Shop, Assembly, and Shipping Departments. This position supports, directs and manages the department supervisors to effectively perform the functions of their jobs in order to increase production and efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, co-workers and management.
- Implementation of process controls. Problem solve and create systems to improve department efficiencies through KPI process.
- Participate in production decisions concerning new product lines.
- Coordinate the Assembly & Shipping production aspects of the product, including schedules and outside vendor orders.
- Work with department supervisors to establish and maintain the production schedule for each product to meet established order dates, as well as document and improve the Production product development process.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of Assembly production. While consistently working to continuously improve in all areas.
- Continue to develop and improve leadership and managerial abilities of self and department Supervisors in or to increase subordinates' skills and capabilities.
- Responsible for training and development of department Supervisors and oversee the training of production personnel and new production hires.
- Monitor all expenses incurred in the production areas of Assembly and Shipping & Receiving. Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.
- Review upcoming job duties with department Supervisors on a regular basis.
- Continually review with department Supervisors their job tasks and work together to create cost saving measures and/or ideas to improve quality and service.
- Secure tools, equipment and employees for department Supervisors as needed to allow them to effectively perform their job tasks.
- Monitor quality of all goods produced.
- Maintain healthy relationships with neighboring community, customers, vendors competitors and co-workers.
- Oversee schedule and monitor all phases of production process.
- Develop and oversee standard work and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure production equipment and facility up time
- Work to streamline computer system and paper handling system as it relates to Assembly and Shipping processes.
- Emphasis in developing labor cost reduction system as well as maximizing efficiency.
- Implementation of a product cost system from a production viewpoint.
- Ensures consistent performance management by Department Supervisors.
- Works closely with Warehouse and Receiving Supervisor to ensure accurate inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Require a minimum of an Associates degree.
- Prefer Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Require 5-7 years of production, assembly, scheduling and shipping operations experience.
- Prefer 5-10 years of experience in each phase of production operations, including managing employees, process and production improvement and implementation, assembly, shipping, and receiving.
- Prefer 3-5 years of Industrial Engineering, with lean experience.
- Prefer extensive knowledge in mechanical manufacturing products.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position directly manages all Assembly and Shipping Department Supervisors and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within those departments.
TRAVEL PERCENTAGE: Light, up to 20%
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
