What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Controls position at APSI Construction Management?
Project Details (Size, SOW, Site Background, etc.):
Location: ON-SITE in San Diego (various different construction sites throughout the school district)
Facilities Planning and Construction Division, San Diego Unified School District. Various new and renovation construction projects - District Wide.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Under the guidance of the Lead Cost Schedule Engineer and Senior Cost Schedule Engineers, the individual assists Project Managers with forecasting cost at completion, processing project budget records of change, construction change orders, scheduling, and quantifying cost risks for school projects.
- Runs reports, reviews data, and ensures that costs are assigned to the appropriate cost center in conformance with district policies and procedures.
- In addition, reviews the project managers project schedules to ensure that project milestones are accurately shown.
- Interfaces with Contract Specialists to ensure correct cost coding and payment request processing of Contractor and Vendor invoices.
- Assists in the financial closeout of projects and contracts.
- Assists the construction management team as related to cost and schedule for projects.
- The CSE 2 assists the program controls team and project managers with updates of project schedules in P6 and cost data in Primavera Unifier.
Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, fiancé, construction management, related discipline, or comparable experience
- 3-5 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearance, etc.):
- Well-versed in Project Control duties for Cost and Schedule.
- Assists the Program Controls Supervisor with quantifying cost and schedule risks for school projects.
- Basic licenses, certifications, and/or registrations to be obtained within an established time frame upon hire: Primavera Project Management (P6) Fundamentals training certificate within two months of hire. AACEI affiliation, CMAA, or PMI Affiliation is a plus.
