The Environmental Engineer is a professional position providing engineering evaluation, design, and support for a range of environmental and infrastructure projects funded by private and government clients. The Environmental Engineer will report directly to a senior Professional Engineer who will be responsible for providing workload and training. Work will include both field and office tasks necessary to complete environmental assessment, remediation and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Work activities to support various aspects of engineering projects that may be environmental or civil, including environmental document preparation, design preparation, environmental permitting, storm water system evaluation and inspection, environmental due diligence, environmental site characterization, environmental site remediation, compliance inspections, and environmental site closure.
- Perform engineering evaluation and design activities to support project objectives and achieve desired goals.
- Candidate will work closely with Project Managers to execute project tasks to meet client objectives and priorities and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Work will include both field and office tasks necessary to complete environmental assessment, remediation, and infrastructure projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in ABET-accredited Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering program, or related engineering field.
- 0-6 years work experience, primarily related to environmental services including site assessment, remedial design, remedial action construction/implementation, remediation system operation and maintenance, property transfer due diligence, environmental permitting, and compliance.
- Proficiency preparing technically concise reports, tables, figures, for remedial designs, design drawings and calculations for environmental assessment and remediation reports and plans.
- Expertise regarding remedial techniques and designs for traditional and innovative technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of state and federal environmental regulations
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple activities on an on-going basis by given deadline
- Engineer Intern (EI) certification and interest to pursue Professional Engineer licensure.
- Thorough understanding of Chapters 62-780 and 62-777, Florida Administrative Code, and risk based closure avenues allowable.
- Must be able to safely drive to job sites.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training
- Work experience with environmental remediation related to petroleum, solvents, metals, and other contaminants in the soil and groundwater.
- Work experience with industrial wastewater, environmental permitting, property development design and/or stormwater management design a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment where changing client priorities result in the need to determine creative ways to get the job done right.
- Candidate must also be flexible and willing to support other projects as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures during the execution of work.
- Ability to travel and complete engineering field supervision, inspection, and work execution.
