What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Specialist position at APTIM?
Job Summary:
The APTIM Federal Services, LLC team was recently awarded The Fort McCoy Barracks Renovaiton Project in Wisconsin. APTIM will be performing Reconstruction of 212 Barracks utilized by the Operation Allies Welcome. The Work being performed is general construction, in typical structural, mechanical, finishes, plumbing, and exterior construction.
Project responsibilities involve working closely with the APTIM Program Quality Organization, Site Management, Quality Control (QC) Specialists, and the project staff to manage the Quality Control through all phases of construction. The Site QC Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall Quality Control on site.
Previous Site QC Manager experience should be related to building construction and renovation, site restoration, and site utility type projects.
We are seeking project team members possessing effective planning, organization, and communication skills (both written and oral).
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Managing Project Quality Control Plan implementation by the project team
- Managing the QC process (USACE/NAVFAC 3 Phases of Control System) for tasks described in the Project QC Plan, which are based on project requirement documents
- Involving the engineering team in development of field QC inspection plans and checklists for work performed by subcontractors
- Reviewing, approving, and tracking construction submittals
- Conducting weekly project meetings with staff, subcontractors and customer representatives
- Writing clear and concise reports
- Implementing a tracking system for nonconforming materials, tests and field work
- Coordinating field inspections and testing with Government Quality Assurance (QA) staff
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have 3 years relevant experience as a Quality Contorl
- A current USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors is required
- Experience with the USACE Three Phase Control System
- Knowledge of and familiarity with industry HSE requirements, USACE EM 385-1-1
- Knowledgeable regarding relevant industrial codes, standards and specifications (i.e. ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, AWWA, AISC, ACI, IEEE ...etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite
- Experienced with client and client representative interaction

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
