THE ROLE
As a Part-Time Youth Mentor in Janesville, WI, you will support youth with disabilities in our youth services program. No two days will ever look the same in this position, if you are looking for a fun position where you can make a difference, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- Competitive hourly rate of $16/hr
- Part-Time - 10-25/hours a week (Youth services have two service times, after-school programming and summer programming. During the summer shifts could be between 7:30 am - 3:30 pm and during the school year hours of operation are 2 pm -6 pm.)
- Flexible Scheduling
- Monday through Friday daytime hours with shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to youth participants who have disabilities
- Have availability to work after the after-school program (2:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.) during the week and be able to switch to summer operation times (8 a.m.-3 p.m.) Monday through Friday. This is a part-time position, meaning less than 30 hours per week.
- Work with Aptiv team members to help youth reach personal goals and help them increase independence by teaching social and life skills.
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with youth participants.
- Be able to teach emotional regulation skills, coping skills, and anger management strategies.
- Be consistent, have excellent communication, and be able to keep up-to-date and accurate documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must be 18 years of age, or older
- Must have a valid driver's license with access to reliable transportation
- State of Wisconsin minimum auto insurance
- Flexible schedule
- Weekend availability
