As a product manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development roadmap of our middleware and DevOps platform, from the development stage until it’s in the hands of customers. This is a new product organization Aptiv has launched and you will be at the forefront of industry transformation with cutting-edge technology. You will be responsible for the overall product vision and strategy, creation and execution of product roadmap, assessment of the market opportunity and resource requirements working closely with Product Marketing and Sales, and leading the team with product management best practices. A qualified product manager will not only deliver on the promises to investors and customers but also shape the organization into a product-focused organization.
As the product manager, you will play a pivotal role in the development of middleware and DevOps platform and will play a key role for Aptiv SW product strategy, adopting a strategic approach to break down barriers and enhance our customer relationships towards a software defined vehicle. You’ll build your network of customers and our technical leads with business view in mind and the intention to start and grow business with the middleware and DevOps platform and form the roadmap for the technology development.

Objectives of this Role:
Create and manage product roadmap and development ahead of OEM customers' RFPs
Help build business case for middleware and DevOps platform
Drive reuse and ensure product competitiveness in the market
Lead cross-functional team to ensure products are delivered on time, at-quality, and fit with the market needs
Responsibilities:
Own DevOps platform and middleware product strategy
Build and update robust business case, including staffing needs (resourcing requirements) and revenue potential, aligned to product roadmap
Collaborate with Product Marketing to assess the competitive landscape and reflect market intel in business case
Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to ensure customer feedback is incorporated in future product development and roadmap processes
Manage all elements of product pricing and service feature sets that can be bundled differently
Lead product team through product development and roadmap process
Ensure execution aligns with overall product vision
Support Product Marketing and Sales with product promotion / marketing content and events
Oversee product design, product launch, lifecycle management, and product reuse
Drive clarity in product vision, use cases, and product roadmap to enable the Engineering and Design teams in product development
Collaborate with Engineering team to ensure an on time, on budget, and high-quality development and launch of products as defined by product development and roadmap process
Coordinate with product sales specialists on what customizations and integrations should be marketed to global account directors, program directors, and regional engineering
Ensure maximum reuse of work, by striving to design products such that it requires minimal customization work to satisfy a broad base of customer requirements
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field
5 years of experience in software product management
Experience developing and delivering highly available and complex systems
Experience with value based software pricing and agile development methodology
Experience with cloud-native technology (microservices, Kubernetes, APIs, etc.)
Extensive understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and POSIX-based embedded systems
Leadership and people management experience
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
All-hands-on-deck approach with a strategic vision
Excellent communication / presentation skills
High degree of commitment, proactiveness, and flexibility
Proficiency with product management tools (e.g. JIRA)
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field
8 years of experience in software product management
Domain expertise in automotive and automotive functional safety requirements (e.g. ISO 26262)
Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g. DDS, SOME/IP) and vehicle networking (e.g. CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet)
Familiarity with automotive software development (v-cycle, ASPICE, etc.) and testing methods (SIL, HIL, DIL, etc.)
