Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a Scrum Master, Senior to provide support services to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC). The services will include related activities in support of all complete lifecycle management, software maintenance, software engineering, software sustainment, software replication and distribution, software control, Information Technology (IT) technical support services, Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS), Post Production Software Support (PPSS), and Cybersecurity. These services advance SEC's mission of ensuring operational readiness by developing, providing, integrating, and maintaining Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), Logistics, and Business Software.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate scrum meetings and eliminate blockers (PI Planning, Retrospectives, Daily Stand-ups, Demos, etc.).
- Lead and build relationships to encourage collaboration, transparency, and innovation. across a highly cross-functional Agile software development team supporting CI/CD.
- Promote Agile quality practices, coordinate across organizations, and serve as a resource to answer questions.
- Advise government personnel on improvements to the standardization of processes.
- Work directly with senior-level client leadership teams in client-delivery engagement
- Servant leader who helps the teams achieve their goal through constant coaching, mentoring, and smooth facilitation of processes
- Ensure that the team is focused and knows the tasks they must accomplish in the time given
- Interact with different teams such as Product Management and Portfolio management teams, or other release trains to ensure alignment
- Facilitation of Team and Program Level events for effective program execution
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in a Computer science or engineering degree or equivalent work
- Substitution for degree: Must have industry-recognized Scrum Master certification
- 8-12 years minimum experience of strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication, and technical negotiation skills
- Expert in executing common Agile practices and service-oriented environments
- Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of iterative development as well as backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
- Experience working with distributed software development products and teams,
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Experience in technical leadership
- Ability to rapidly prioritize competing requirements
- Ability to understand and simplify customer requirements
- Ability to communicate end-user feedback to technical and design leads
- Proven knowledge of managing agile software development efforts
- Expertise in removing technical and organizational barriers
- Ability to coach, mentor, and train on Agile principles and practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Project and Configuration Management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally Software, Github, etc.) is desirable.
- Experienced in technical disciplines and technical background.
- PMP preferred.
