Job Summary
Aptive is seeking an inspired, bold, multi-skilled video creator to join our creative team. The Video Producer will bring creative collaboration, editing and design skills to support digital content across client owned properties.
We are looking for someone who brings creativity and the technical skills to concept, produce, shoot and edit video for a range of stunning, innovative content. This position requires expertise both in video content creation and social media content optimization (understanding what is native for a platform and being mindful of content that facilitates audience growth). Working within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment to produce digital video, this role will be crucial in building audiences, promoting brands and capturing the amazing moments in the work.
This full-time position is located at Aptive’s Headquarters in Alexandria, VA, with remote options available. The Video Producer must be able to travel to Washington, DC and other locations, as needed, to shoot.
Primary Responsibilities
- Experience supporting executive-level clients.
- Fluent in new developments in digital storytelling, technologies and delivery.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere and/or DaVinci Resolve, Creative Suite, audio mixing, lighting and color correction/finishing.
- Technical knowledge of production studio and on-location set-up to include shooting, lighting, audio equipment, teleprompter, transcription and more.
- Background in creative digital photography and lighting. Experience with studio photography and event coverage, capturing corporate headshots, portraits and candid shots.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Strong project-management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, organize time and identify resources for projects.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience with Section 508c compliance standards/related laws within the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to carry out multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of progressively complex, relevant video/content editing experience at an agency and/or production house environment.
- End-to-end familiarity with video production process, including pre-production, shooting and post-production/editing.
- Bachelor’s degree in film or video or related experience strongly preferred.
- Reel and/or example links required.
- Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies is ideal.
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC as needed by client.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Create, develop and produce innovative digital video programming and marketing content across client-owned channels (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Instagram.) on a daily basis.
- Participate in strategic planning for video storytelling across channels, including websites, newsletters, social media, as well as conferences and other in-person events.
- Manage all aspects of video production and development, pre-production, production and post, including writing, shooting, editing, selecting music and editorial.
- Shoot a variety of styles of original and branded content, in the field and in the studio, including documentary pieces, commercial-style shoots, sketch, music video and long-form videos.
- Create sizzle reels, pitch reels, case studies, marketing pieces and day-to-day social videos for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as on-site videographer and/or photographer and capture footage from clients, external and internal events, and conferences.

The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) plays a critical role in connecting Veterans with the benefits and services they have earned. VBA’s Strategic Engagement (SE) serves as the primary interface with Veterans and their families through online and in-person engagement efforts, providing them with timely and appropriate assistance.
