With tremendous growth comes exciting opportunity! We are looking to add an experienced Estimator to our estimating team.
Position Purpose: The Estimator is responsible for working collaboratively with Project Teams, Sub-Contractors, and Sales determining projected time frame needed to complete a project, labor, material, and budget. The Estimator works directly with Subcontractors / Supplies obtaining bids/quotes on materials and services needed for various commercial projects.Contractors, and Sales determining projected time frame needed to complete a project, labor, material, and budget.
Position Summary: The primary job of the Estimator is developing and maintaining relationships with Sub-Contractor / Suppliers, creating, and analyzing cost estimates and project budgets, managing project costs, communicating effectively with both internal and external project team members.
Essential Duties:
1. Collaborate with project team on the start-to-finish cycle of new and existing projects ensuring that estimates are completed within the designated time frame, budget and scope
2. Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine project costs and produce detailed estimates
3. Follow up with contractors on bids, providing feedback focusing on maintaining collaborative relationship, competitive pricing and material availability
4. Analyze project risks and contingencies, considering them in the estimation process
5. Conduct cost comparisons and evaluate the financial impact of different approaches and scenarios, identifying alternative materials, construction methods and cost saving strategies
6. Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to review bid documents and gather necessary documents
7. Participate in bid review meetings, providing insights and recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of bids
8. Supplier and Subcontractor management
9. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions and material costs
10. Other duties and tasks as needed.

2. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring reliable and competitive pricing

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
1. 2-year degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or applicable area
2. 5 years of estimating, procurement management experience
3. 2 years of experience as a Project Manager in Commercial Construction (preferred)
4. In-depth knowledge of commercial construction industry methods, practices, materials, and tools involved in construction
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret project documents
6. Self-directed leader with excellent organizational, communication and project management skills, effectively and efficiently managing multiple project bids simultaneously
7. Must be collaborative, flexible, innovative and an excellent collaborative driver focused on ensuring positive working relationships with subcontractors, vendors and APX team members to meet/exceed the needs of the business
8. Ability to manage change, solve problems and work in ever changing situations with a professional understanding of urgency and effective adaptability skills resulting in effective production and quality on all projects
Physical Demands:
1. Must be able to work in various conditions from office, field, client locations and job sites
2. Must be able to work with various office equipment in various environments
3. Must wear required PPE at all times and follow all safety requirements while on job sites
4. Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time and distance
