Conduct methodical investigation, analysis, review, design, and documentation of information, systems, or processes as it related to operations; this is a progression position (3 of 4) and involves complex, multi- application analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform data and technical analysis, to include (but not limited to) data collection, investigations, analyses, technical support, procedure/policy/manual development, problem resolution, field testing, inspections, training programs, contractor, and development of innovative technologies to support operations management group which includes Damage Prevention, Field Customer Service and Pipeline Maintenance.
  • Develop recommendations and changes to existing procedures and actions to improve processes as well as advising others (internal and external to PNG) of concerns.
  • Develop and implement automated methods to track workflow and performance efficiencies.
  • Conduct various testing processes in support of analytical decision-making.
  • Function as liaison and participate in defining technology solutions to solve problems with long-term implications.
  • Coordinate reporting and/or responses to internal or external sources requiring analysis and/or information (e.g., the Ops-Engineering department, internal/external audits, PUC, AGA, FERC, other PNG departments, etc.)
  • Develop and/or provide training related to analysis results.
  • Develop and provide budget and project cost report analysis to support budget management.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of policies, practices, procedures, and internal operations as well as compliance regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, compile, and analyze data and develop results.
  • Strong planning, writing, and data management skills; detail oriented.
  • Highly effective analytical person with initiative and ability to use sound judgement.
  • Solid communications skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to clearly explain and relate analysis processes and findings to gas operations practices.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 8 years analytical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in research, analysis, and logical results development.
  • Bachelor's degree in field providing analytical education required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive PNG Company Vehicles.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
  • Working conditions are approximately 20% travel frequency to other PNG sites (and/or outside Pittsburgh for PNG related events).
  • Perform medium work- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Primarily an office environment; exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, wet, and/or humid conditions and vibration possible; hazards may include mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or gas exposure; may be exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and/or gases.
  • Physical demands include the ability to maneuver at work locations (including visual acuity, hearing, communicating, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions), primarily an office environment.
  • Position requires the ability to drive PNG Company vehicles, use computer-related equipment and general tools when on site such as (but not limited to) calibration and electronic equipment, hand tools, etc.
