What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waterpark Designer position at Aquatic Development Group?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Waterpark Designer will report to the Manager of Architecture and Planning. This position will play a key role in the design and architectural development of themed indoor and outdoor waterparks, immersive creative attractions, and resort and amusement environments. The Waterpark Designer will be an integral part of a high-energy work environment with fast-paced deadlines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create waterpark and resort master plans at scale showing the relationship between the major park attractions, support facilities, retail components, parking, and landscaping.
· Conceive and develop indoor and outdoor park features and imagery according to a theming concept.
· Express ideas quickly and powerfully using hand and computer drawings, sketches, and graphics.
· Create presentation booklets to support project features including plans, studies, diagrams, and imagery.
· Develop both AutoCAD, SketchUp, and hand-rendered plans, perspectives, site sections, elevations, and details for waterpark and water amenities.
· Coordinate design needs with outside consultants and project team members through all project phases.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Gaming Design, or related fields. Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred.
- Drafting certificate will be considered
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / TRAINING:
- Minimum 3 years experience in architectural or landscape architectural design.
- Must have experience in AutoCAD drafting and SketchUp.
- Must have solid understanding of site grading.
- Ability to hand sketch and render colored plans, elevations/perspectives, and vignettes.
- 3D modeling including Revit, Solidworks or Civil 3D a plus.
- 3D rendering software knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of piping and pumping systems with utility coordination a plus.
- Must be a self-directed, independent worker with the flexibility to work as a team member across all departments as well as with outside project teams.
- Flexibility to work as a team member with our architects, engineers, marketing, and construction managers.
