What we are looking for:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and managing a team of 4. The ideal candidate will have progressive experience in accounting roles, be an excellent communicator, thrive in a dynamic environment, be motivated by working in a team environment, and have a passion for driving continuous improvement. Aperture is both an E-commerce Direct-To-Consumer business, as well as a design and manufacturer of unique products going through Business-To-Business sales channels. Experience in either of these types of businesses or sales channels is a plus.
What you'll do:
Lead all aspects of accounting: With your team, manage AP, AR, inventory, cost accounting, revenue recognition, sales tax compliance, general ledger, financial statements, and various other accounting items. Successfully lead, manage, and coach a team of 4.
Manage Treasury Operations: Monitor bank transactions and cash balances for all bank accountants. Maintain policies and internal controls that protect company assets. Support Finance Director with Cash Flow forecasting, provide insights into status of payables and receivables. With your team, prepare, review and approve wires/ACH’s.
Maintain Policies & Procedures: Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations. Keep an organized filing system of accounts, statements, transactions, reconciliations.
Financial Statements: Prepare and organize financial statements for review in a timely manner. Analyze results and provide insights and recommendations to the CFO and leadership team.
Other Reporting and administration: Comply with all local, state and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting. Organize information and statements for audits. Partner with external vendor for Sales Tax filings and analysis.
General responsibilities: Work independently to manage daily tasks, special projects and deadlines as well as work toward team goals and deadlines. Participate in team development of annual project-based goals and perform self-directed activities to support completion of goals. Participate in team meetings and other meetings and projects as needed.
