Job Details
Aquent Studios is looking for a Accessibility Designer for our client with experience working in a fast-paced, and evolving environment. As a key member of the UX accessibility team, you will help ensure that features delivered through their UX organization are built with accessibility in mind by providing accessibility design and annotation support, as well as contributing to accessibility guidelines and documentation to be leveraged by cross functional teams.

Compensation Range: $45 -55/hr DOE

What You'll Do
- Elevate product quality by providing accessibility design and annotation support to product teams.
- Advise product, design and engineering teams (iOS, Android and Web) on accessibility best practices and accessibility related decisions.
- Help Investigate the use technology and automation to simplify and enhance how accessibility is achieved.
- Contribute accessible guidelines and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion accessibility and inclusive design principles, ensuring adherence to latest WCAG accessibility standards
- Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility, staying abreast of industry trends, standards, and regulations
Background/Experience
- 5 years UX experience
- 2 years of experience with digital accessibility or inclusive design
- Experience working within a large design team preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be self-driven
- Knowledge and experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 accessibility standards and guidelines
- Knowledge of disability law including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and Affordable Care Act Section 1557
- Knowledge of assistive technology and contributing to design systems for digital products
- Proficient with testing using keyboard only, switch devices, screen reader(s) such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and Talkback and accessibility assessment, inspection & evaluation tools
- Experience using project management tools (e.g. Jira, Airtable)
