Aquinas Consulting has an immediate need for a skilled Assembly Technician job at a top R&D facility located in the Danbury, CT area.
In this role, you will be responsible for component assembly, cell testing (physical / electrical), cell teardown analysis, and concept prototyping of technologies for future assemblies.
Assembly Technician Job Responsibilities :
- Assemble batteries using physical / mechanical equipment : load 2mm cans / cups, add / dispense cathode, separator, dispense anode.
- Conduct laboratory tests on materials and technologies for improved alkaline batteries
- Prepare batches of materials / cells for lab trials
- Collaborate with team members in preparing components and fabricating prototype cells
- Summarize data and report results
- Work with multiple scientists / engineers to ensure project deliverables are met
- Ensure that all equipment used is maintained and calibrated
- Maintain the highest standards for laboratory safety; review lab safety and quality documents
- Perform routine lab cleanliness tasks, e.g., general cleanup, hazardous waste separation / labeling
Qualifications :
- Technical degree or certification in chemistry or mechanical / electrical engineering or solid assembly background and 3 years of experience
- Fast starter and quick learner
- Experience in laboratory settings, cleanrooms or precision assembly environments is ideal.
- Experience in data collection, documentation, and reporting
- Able to follow written procedures and instructions
- Able to take direction while also working independently and meet deadlines
- Able to physical use mechanical equipment to assemble components cell assembly
- Able to do hands-on work in mixing / testing materials (liquids, powders) and small part assembly
- Able to manipulate small (2mm) parts, with steady hands, and dispense chemicals into those parts.
- Able to carry out nonstandard experimental work
- Able to follow procedures to submit product for testing, manage timelines for testing, acquire data, and assembling of data into graphs or other means to communicate results
- Willing and able to wear a respirator for some tasks and work with hazardous materials with proper training and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Ability to clearly communicate / present results and project status.
- Excellent M / S office, written and verbal communications skills
