The Applied Electromagnetic Division (AED) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Computational Physical Sciences team. The successful candidate will work with our team of software developers and engineers developing multiphysics tools and supporting our research and development efforts for advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis. Work will be performed out of ARA’s Dayton, OH office and at customer facilities at WPAFB. Members of ARA’s Computational Physical Sciences team have a great degree of freedom and are encouraged to pursue fulfilling technical work. This position is contingent upon ARA being awarded the contract by the customer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active TS Security Clearance
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
- 5 years of experience in engineering, data science, and/or software development
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python and C
- Prior experience supporting software development for DoD or Intelligence Community customers (preferably USAF or NASIC)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
- Experience modeling scenes including environments and threats to characterize sensor performance
- Experience developing or applying software and algorithms for sensor data analysis and RF signature modeling
- Proficiency with advanced radar systems concepts, performance, and data analysis

Our Computational Physical Sciences team is comprised of physicists, engineers, and software developers operating collaboratively across the U.S. to develop and implement solutions to challenging RDT&E problems. Our team is coast-to-coast - performing work from offices in California, Ohio, Michigan, and remotely in Delaware.
