The Engineering Science Division of ARA is seeking a field technician to join our progressive and passionate team. The qualified applicant will have experience in the handling, testing and analysis of explosive substances (to include homemade/terrorist explosives and chemical precursors).
Under close supervision, assists in the maintenance of site/field equipment and/or the installation, rearrangement and removal of equipment and associated wiring at the customer site or at the company location. Assists in the testing, moving, repair and adjustment of equipment problems associated with trouble reports and performs routine maintenance. Requires High School diploma or equivalent, and three to four years of related experience. Technical training equivalent to an associate degree preferred.
What You Will Do as a Field Technician:
- Assist in the testing, moving, repair, and adjustment of equipment associated with trouble reports and perform routine maintenance.
- Assist in all phases of testing, perform administrative functions involved in testing, test plan editing and coordination, technical report editing and archiving, training documentation, scheduling and documenting project work, and perform other support functions necessary to assist the group in executing different projects. The support functions include (but are not limited to): safety monitoring of hazardous operations, yard and building maintenance, handling of chemicals and explosives, introducing test articles into Transportation Security Equipment, recording the results of test data.
- Applicant must be comfortable with handling explosive materials on a daily basis.
- Broadly apply basic principles, theories and concepts to job assignments. The hire will exhibit technical and operational proficiency solving problems of moderate complexity. They will contribute to completion of projects and programs in area of expertise.
- Interface with internal and/or external customers and provide guidance to other employees.
Staff Field Technician Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, and three to four years of related experience in the handling, testing and analysis of explosive substances (to include homemade/terrorist explosives and chemical precursors).
- A U.S. citizen with an active DoD Security Clearance (or cleared within the previous 12 months) and the ability to obtain a DHS Suitability Clearance. Applicants must also be able to obtain a C class CDL with Hazardous Material endorsement.
- Demonstrated excellence in test plan editing, technical report editing and archiving, and training documentation, scheduling and documenting project work.
- Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
