He/she will work closely within Aramark's Global Procurement and Supply Chain Management legal team, together with the strategic sourcing organization team to ensure that the resulting contracts are of the highest, professional quality and in compliance with Aramark's internal rules, regulations and policies. Description
Aramark is seeking a Contract Specialist to support the strategic sourcing organization with contract preparation and finalization. He/she will work closely within Aramark's Global Procurement and Supply Chain Management legal team, together with the strategic sourcing organization team to ensure that the resulting contracts are of the highest, professional quality and in compliance with Aramark's internal rules, regulations and policies. This role is highly visible and requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of the Aramark business model, including the Avendra Group GPO (group purchasing organization) business.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with internal contract owners, strategic sourcing, sales and financial personnel to draft a variety of contract documents utilizing templates and other standardized contract language.
- Ensure supplier business and legal terms are accurately reflected and contract standards (e.g. formatting, accurate references, spelling, grammar, adhering to processes, etc.) are met for final contract documents.
- Evaluate contracts and identify approvals (via a CMR Summary form, Overview tab, and template questions in Ariba) required to comply with current policies and guidelines for strategic sourcing associates.
- Track on-going document changes and ensure document acceptance by contract owner
- Utilize the Ariba contracts system to effectively prepare contract documents, identify need for approvals and deviations to contractual "no fly zones", and ensure the delivery of high quality documents.
- Perform quality reviews of contracts in pre-final stages to ensure the documents meet the highest, professional quality (e.g., correct legal name, dates and addresses match, verify math examples, formatting, accurate terms and references, spelling, grammar, adhering to processes, etc.)
- Provide feedback to Legal Department leadership on Ariba Contracts design, functionality, and any issues.
- Demonstrate good business judgment by knowing what issues to push, when to seek help internally, and how to manage internal negotiation and approvals processes.
- Demonstrate initiative and a 'self-starter' mentality; informally contribute to the benefit of the Legal Department / to make the department better by being an issue-spotter and problem-solver.
- Other duties as may be requested to support the Legal Department.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A./B.S. required.
- At least 4 years of relevant legal experience to above responsibilities desired
- Attention to detail and exceptional organization skills, with persistence and professionalism
- Well-developed verbal ability, including excellent grammar and sentence structure
- Knowledge of contracts, term sheets and other legal documents, including the ability to read and interpret contract documents and understand business concepts
- Ability to work independently in handling contract topics with members of Aramark's contracting team and the Legal Department
- Responsive and client-service focused
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects, and work under time constraints
- Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook, and use of contract management systems (e.g., ARIBA).
