Job Description
This position is accountable to lead Payroll Process, Strategy, Communications and Knowledge Management for the Aramark US & Canada area of the business; supporting driving Payroll Operations and System Administration together with all payroll stakeholders to desired business results.
This position identifies and sets future strategy for payroll across North America and executes. Defines and drives key requirements, projects and initiatives aimed at efficiency, quality, compliance, reducing costs, eliminating complexity and/or maximizing value of select functions and operations. Is the Center of Excellence (COE) for the Payroll function.
Leads the work performed by a team of 5-8 employees; who are tasked with providing analysis and guidance on payroll initiatives, managing and executing payroll related projects including communication strategy and execution; collaborate with interdependent teams to optimize the end-to-end process and system integration. Related project management support will be provided from the Finance PMO.
The incumbent will apply comprehensive knowledge / skills of payroll operations and systems, input processes / systems (i.e., timekeeping, HR) and output gross-to-net and financial reporting requirements; handle a variety of work activities at once; proactively act to understand employee, payee and outsource provider needs and identify / implement solutions; Understand and proactively optimize the end-to-end process; Identify and drive process improvements; develop and maintain partnerships with other internal and external stakeholders. Ability to drive across the end to end process and effectively communicate with Senior Leadership across the teams.

Job Responsibilities
- Drive the strategic agenda for the NA Payroll space
- Resource and lead initiatives associated with driving payroll forward as a function/organization
- Communicate and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to analyze current processes, identify new system functionalities/efficiencies, and recommend and implement changes.
- Coach and lead staff of 5-8; provide on-going feedback to develop employees and meet objectives
- Display strong ethics and ability to keep information confidential
- Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results against sources specified in the requirements
- Provide analysis and guidance on payroll related initiatives
- Set vision for and manage the knowledge content on the portal and related communications
- Maintain desktop procedures (DTPs) for Global Business Services Payroll Operations
- Develop training programs and execution for payroll and contact center new hires and recurrent training
- Work collaboratively with key payroll partners; Directors of Payroll Ops and Payroll IT/System Administration as well as key stakeholders; Benefits, Audit, Legal, Labor Relations and HR
STATUS AND SCOPE:
The position will report directly to the AVP – Financial Services
The incumbent is required to interface with various levels of senior management, internal and external stakeholders, and external vendors. Understand and align his/her objectives with organizational goals, provide solutions to a diverse range of complex issues, and build strong internal and external alliances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years' experience in a large scale payroll operations environment leading projects/process
- Proficient knowledge of the Ultimate Software SaaS Payroll platform a plus
- 8 years Leadership experience
- Understands how payroll integrates and impacts upstream and downstream processes
- Manage multiple initiative tracks; driving timely completion and providing reporting to Senior Leadership in a succinct manner
- Experience working in a client/customer shared service environment
- Proven ability to maintain focus and work effectively with multiple demands
- Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish tasks
- Ability to recognize and solve complex issues before as they arise, and escalate to the appropriate level
- Ability to lead a team and provide solutions to support the end-to-end process
- Ability to influence and guide to achieve the best solution
- Demonstrated learning agility and critical thinking skills and apply basic concepts in new situations
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Desktop software proficiency, including MS Project and/or Smartsheet experience
- FPC/CPP Certification
