What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Arbor Post Acute?
Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including
- lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors.
- Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
- Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
- Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents.
- Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner.
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished.
- Excellent customer skills and positive attitude.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently or with a team. Supervisory Requirements This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred. Language Skills Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.
Mathematical Skills Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Fluent in written and spoken English.
