Role description:
As a Project Manager, you will use your years of construction experience to manage projects for a variety of local clients.
Role accountabilities:
- Work with the Alaska Arcadis team to manage design and construction projects on behalf of Owners for water/sewer infrastructure and sanitation projects in Rural Alaska
- Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP) and Bidding documents for A/E services, Contractor selection, etc.
- Design Management: oversee and manage the design process to assure Owner’s project needs are met within the proposed budget and schedule. Facilitate design meetings, review design submittals, manage value engineering process, etc.
- Manage the Project Schedule, review contractor submitted schedules, and review and provide feedback to the Owner on the reasonableness and general sufficiency of the Contractor’s progress to meet the Contractor’s schedules in relation to the Project Schedule. In the event of critical path schedule delays, make recommendations to Owner to require corrective action by the Contractor.
- Manage the budget; track budget, spent to date, contingency, estimate to completion.
- Periodic travel to Rural Alaska villages to photograph construction progress and observe construction Work with respect to plans/specs.
- Coordinate, review, and advise the Owner concerning change orders, submittals, and requests for information (RFI), in consultation with the Architect. Monitor an approved submittal schedule developed by the Contractor.
- Develop weekly/monthly status progress reports. Coordinate Commissioning Agent and Special Inspection trips/visits with A/E team and Contractor.
- Review test reports and inspections and notify the Owner, the Architect and the Contractor of any deficiencies in the Work of which the Owner’s Representative becomes aware.
- Review and provide recommendations on contractor pay requests. Support project closeout, provide final inspection on project and coordinate punch list process.
- Assemble close-out documents, O&M manuals, construction drawings, final budget record. Coordinate communications among Owner, project team and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Construction Project Manager
- Rural Alaska construction project experience
- Covid-19 Vaccination

Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods (CM/GC or Design-Build)
- PMP, CHC, DBIA or similar certification
