Role description:
Arcadis is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our East Greenwich, RI office. This full-time position requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and desire to develop professionally through field implementation and office-based tasks.
Role accountabilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing field site visits and water quality sampling; project supervision; coordinating and conducting oversight activities for projects, including construction, demolition, installation of new water/wastewater infrastructure;
- Field data collection, analysis, and interpretation;
- Preparation of visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of project data and trends;
- Technical report writing;
- Preparing cost estimates and proposals;
- Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.);
- Task planning and coordination;
- Supporting multi-disciplinary project teams.
Desired Skills/Attributes:
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Industry, consulting, or regulatory work experience;
- Written and interpersonal communication skills;
- Interest in working outdoors;
- Collaboration in a team environment;
- Must be agile and capable of efficiently completing assignments while working both independently and in teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline; 2 years of experience in environmental compliance, water quality investigation, and/or water infrastructure projects.
