Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our East Greenwich, RI office. This full-time position requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and desire to develop professionally through field implementation and office-based tasks.

Role accountabilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Performing field site visits and water quality sampling; project supervision; coordinating and conducting oversight activities for projects, including construction, demolition, installation of new water/wastewater infrastructure;
• Field data collection, analysis, and interpretation;
• Preparation of visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of project data and trends;
• Technical report writing;
• Preparing cost estimates and proposals;
• Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.);
• Task planning and coordination;
• Supporting multi-disciplinary project teams.

Desired Skills/Attributes:

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
• Industry, consulting, or regulatory work experience;
• Written and interpersonal communication skills;
• Interest in working outdoors;
• Collaboration in a team environment;
• Must be agile and capable of efficiently completing assignments while working both independently and in teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline; 2 years of experience in environmental compliance, water quality investigation, and/or water infrastructure projects.
