What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at ARCH-RI?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Use an Optical Comparator for measurement of parts and characteristics.
- Use video measurement equipment to measure part dimensions.
- Understand and perform to all current quality standards.
- Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required.
- Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Understand and use concepts like absolute position, geometric tolerance and stack-up.
- Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trending including SPC and Process Capability. Other statistical background is a plus
- Have a basic understanding of machining processes to support communications of findings to the production floor.
- Accurately completes all required electronic transaction and paperwork.
- Utilize various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, gages and other hand held measuring devices for open set ups.
- Basic math skills , including a basic understanding of trigonometry and geometry
- Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required.
- Train others on inspection techniques and tools.
- Support and participate in the Quality Management System (QMS)
- General maintenance of equipment as appropriate.
- Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements.

Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma; associates degree or higher preferred.
- Requires attention to detail and the ability to read drawings and specifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment and quality background.
- Certifications is a plus
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to communicate and limited presentations of quality principles and methodologies including process capability and SPC
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
