What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Specialist position at Archdiocese of Baltimore?

Resurrection-St. Paul School, located in Ellicott City, Maryland provides a Catholic education through excellent academic and extracurricular programs that promote leadership, achievement, and service within the church and community. We are a STEM accredited school through Cognia and offer a 1:1 Chromebook program for Grades 1-8.

The IT specialist will be responsible for the procurement, maintenance and teacher training for hardware and software and will work with the STEM team to ensure successful technology integration in the classroom. The IT specialist will report to the Principal.

Job Responsibilities:

Provides input in the development of a system-wide and building level programs that enables students to use technology as learning tools.
Maintains network security to protect against viruses, hackers and other damages. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of electronic records.
Assist in the planning, development, maintenance, and operation of school computers, and related hardware and software.
Purchase and acquisition of new technology and equipment.
Installs, maintains and repairs network equipment and software.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology or related field required
G-Suite Certified preferred
Excellent IT, communication, leadership and management skills
Experience with PowerSchool, SchoolAdmin, Follett, LGL preferred

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the IT specialist is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The IT specialist is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The learning specialist must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
