What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Athletic Trainer position at Archdiocese of Miami?
Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School located in Southwest Ranches, Florida (Broward County) is looking to hire a qualified and experienced full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 2024-2025 school year. This candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Pay will be based upon years and level of experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Parent and community education in areas of sports injury prevention and recovery.
- Prepare and maintain medical reports while complying with HIPAA; evaluations, treatments, referrals, etc.
- Patient/athlete training and treatment, documentation and management of other athletic trainer’s treatment and documentation.
- Determines the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and records change as indicated by athlete response within limits of specified plan of care.
- Provide athletic training/sports recovery techniques/performance enhancement and assist in implementation of treatment plans, including brace/splint/crutches/DME fitting.
- Skilled in delegation of tasks to ancillary staff, facility maintenance.
- Perform administrative duties related to facility operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Prepare and maintain training room.
- Athletic Trainer presence at all home sporting events and practices, including evenings and some weekend hours.
- Must have a team player attitude, energetic, with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Ability to properly communicate with Head Athletic Trainer, student athletes, parents, and coaches effectively.
Qualifications:
- Must maintain at least a Bachelor’s degree from accredited program.
- Must be certified through the Board of Certification, or be enrolled in a CAATE accredited program and eligible to sit for the BOC exam prior to position start date.
- Must be certified and licensed in the state of Florida.
- Must be willing to work some evenings and Saturdays.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal injury assessment and prevention interventions
- Must be able to utilize appropriate, sound and up-to-date clinical techniques to effectively assess and treat athletic injuries'.
