Holy Redeemer Catholic School, located in Kensington Maryland, is seeking an eager, energetic and professional part time (2-3 days a week) school guidance counselor to complement our 3 day a week counselor, with the possibility of moving into a 5 day a week counselor position the following 2023-2022 school year. Seeking a professional that: Under the direction of the principal, works alongside our current school counselor to provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, school counseling program that promotes academic achievement and social emotional learning across a Pre K to 8th grade school.Specifically: Work collaboratively with the administration to promote a spiritual school climate conducive to safety, academic, behavioral and social emotional growth.Partner in Maintaining and developing an effective school wide program concentrated in spiritual growth, academic achievement and Social Emotional Learning.Apply developmentally appropriate counseling and education theories to develop lessons, support teachers with students academic and behavioral needs.Ability to use theories & techniques when modeling or teaching students, parents, staff and community members.Partner with parents and teachers in appropriate academic planning for all students including those with unique educational needs.Apply current trends in literature, research and technology to support a school wide counseling program.Use data to support continuous improvement and monitor growth across school and district goals.Demonstrate an understanding of and the willingness to plan for social, environmental and cultural influences that impact student success and opportunities.Demonstrate leadership by serving on the Admin team, attending staff and team meetings if/as needed and supporting the HSA.
Salary : $45,500 - $57,600
