PetDine Processing Plant – Chicago, IL area
This is an exempt level position.
Job Summary:
The Process Engineer for the Chicago, IL area plant is a member of the plant operations team and is responsible for providing engineering support for day-to-day operations and for supporting continuous improvement across operations. The Process Engineer will utilize engineering skills to optimize processes, including analyzing and improving plant performance such as safety, quality, throughput/OEE, cost, and reliability. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Globally, PetDine provides a complete range of highly customized pet treat and supplement products to more than 650 customers in 15 countries. The Harvard, IL location employs more than 350 teammates. Their offerings include baked treats, semi-moist treats, long goods, blends, unique proteins, soft chews, liquids and powders, many of which are developed to meet the demand for clean labels. As a joint venture, ADM has a 75% ownership stake in PetDine.

Essential Job Functions:
- Is a steward for safety and actively participates in safety programs.
- Supports quality and food safety management program.
- Identifies and leads continuous improvement projects in support of plant goals for safety, quality, throughput, cost, and reliability.
- Collaborates with colleagues and provides feedback, mentorship, and support to operators and shift supervisors to achieve short and long-term plant objectives through the use of KPIs and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Develops and manages projects including purchasing of materials and supplies, management of change, equipment installation, budget tracking, training, and startup.
- Interacts with ADM Maintenance, Automation & Controls, EHS, and Quality CoE members to drive improvements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated teamworking and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated Continuous Improvement skills
- B.S. in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering with 2-5 years of plant operations experience
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish is highly preferred
