Position Overview: Architectural Cast Stone is currently seeking an Assistant Plant Foreman for its Architectural Precast Concrete and Cast Stone manufacturing facility in West Chicago, IL. This position reports directly to and will work closely with the Plant Manager and foreman. The Assistant Plant Foreman will assist to ensure all production requirements are met, while operating the plant in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. The position coordinates all supervisors and technicians in the facility. This is a front-line operations role that will respond to unplanned events, work independently, and make technical decisions to ensure the reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of the plant.
Position Compensation: $50 – $65K DOE
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or five years of experience in manufacturing and some supervisor experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Good arithmetic skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Experience in operating manufacturing equipment
Job Responsibilities:
- Daily coordination with supervisors and department heads to ensure efficient workflow and through put of the plant.
- Maintain adequate inventory of standard raw material and production consumables
- Ensure facility cleanliness.
- Identify equipment maintenance and repair items.
- Learn operation of wet casting machine line.
- Oversight and execution of special projects.
- Holding employees accountable for company work rules.
- Fostering a positive and enthusiastic culture in the plant.
- Keeping jobs on schedule through form building, fabrication, finishing, and delivery.
- Work close with plant manager to company’s achieve strategic goals and KPIs
